Book Heaven is a Georgian townhouse that sits prominently in the hub of the eclectic town of Bridport, a historic market town that radiates charm. It is situated next door to the Arts Centre and across the main town square from the Georgian Town Hall. On the ground floor of the building Bridport Old Books sells rare and second hand books. The two floors above have been renovated into two premium apartments that combine homely charms with luxurious touches. It’s a boutique hideaway for couples or single travellers.
Bridport packs a punch with lots of great restaurants, theatre, twice-weekly market and a big antique and vintage scene, not to mention the stunning Jurassic Coast a few minutes away and other must-visit towns nearby.
Book Heaven is now owned by The Wakeham Trust, a charitable trust. So your rent goes directly into supporting its projects, and especially education, literature and the arts in West Dorset. As part of that activity, our writer-in-resdience programme offers two one-month rent-free stays over the winter to writers and historians wanting to stay in Bridport to a month to write and think - so please ask us. Our top recommendations whilst staying at Little Boutique Club:
Bridport Old Books (downstairs) - and the Bridport Bookshop, and Wild and Homeless Books, both across the street.
Bridport Arts Centre (next door) - which now also hosts the best cakes and coffee in Bridport between 10am and 3pm most days
The Electric Palace - cinema (Bridport) - live music, theatre, films, etc
The Antiques yard (Bridport) - a vast range of small traders in a jumble of old industrial buildings; a mixture of antiques and junk
Hive Beach Café (Burton Bradstock) - on a spectacular beach, great for breakfast and lunches
